In Paris,
Having a 0,33l beer in a bar costs around 2,5€;
A coffee rounds 1,80€ (1€ if you drink it by the bar);
And a metro ticket is 1,70€.

For the fellow poets of this world: Books can easily be found for 2 or 3€. Look "occasion" signs, namely at Gilbert Jeune, by the St. Michel metro station.
